I hope you all have a great time this weekend! I am sorry that I cannot make it.

Here is a brief update on me: For most of my post-Columbian life, I have been pursuing further education (Bachelor's from the College of Wooster, Master's from Ohio State, and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland) and my career in student affairs in higher education. Since 1996, I have been working at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland ... current title is Associate Dean for Student Engagement. I love the small, liberal arts setting. In my late 30's (and still single), I decided I didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to be a parent . ..so I pursued an international adoption. I adopted my daughter, Mora, from the country of Kazakhstan in February of 2003. (She was 10 months of age at the time.) Mora is now 6 1/2 and thriving in the 1st grade. She is the joy of my life . ..and I would do it all again. But, I am stopping at one child as the cost (to my time and my pocketbook) of raising a child as a single parent (while pursuing my full-time career) stretches me pretty thin. But, our life together is good. We have great friends, neighborhood, church, etc. in Baltimore.

My trombone from TC Marching Band days is in the basement, and Mora loves to pull it out and try to play! Have a great weekend, everyone! Emily
