Since high school, I went immediately into the army, where I spent 2 years getting money for art school. Half way through my time in the army, I decided to go to cooking school instead. You always hear about starving artists, but not a lot about starving chefs! I went to cooking school in Baltimore. From there I went to the Washington DC area. Spent the next 12 years or so in DC working as a pastry chef, and like most chefs, I was married to my job for most of those years. I met my wife in 1999. We got married in 2004 and moved to Florida just in time for the 4 hurricanes that went through the state. Did a little real estate while living there, but was not happy with that or the crazy weather. We then moved to the Charlotte NC area, and I returned to chefing at a nice resort in Ballantyne. Just last year we moved again, to Wisconsin! I’m working at a casino in Milwaukee, and my wife is chief babysitter for our three grandkids here. (We also have two more grandkids in Illinois, one who just graduated from high school!) We may eventually move back to our home in Charlotte, but could also go to the Myrtle Beach area as well.
